Who Should Attend: This section applies to all occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials: Blood means human blood, human blood components, and products made from human blood. Blood Borne Pathogens means pathogenic microorganisms that are present in human blood and can cause disease in humans. These pathogens include, but are not limited to, hepatitis B virus (HBV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).Workers in hospitals, convalescent homes, health care facilities or buildings/residences involved with hospice care that may become in proximity with spilled fluids, fluid containers, needles/sharps or an environment where tissues or air may become exposed to illnesses.
